George W. Crotts, Jr.

Mr. George W. Crotts, Jr., 86, of Winston-Salem died Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born June 3, 1923, the son of the late George W. Crotts, Sr. and Jessie Lackey Crotts. Mr. Crotts was a skilled and conscientious home builder for 50 years, taking great pride in his work. On September 2nd, he prayed the sinner's prayer and accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jerry Martin Evans, Jr. and his daughter-in-law, Joyce Phillips Crotts. Survivors include his wife, LaRue Spainhour Crotts of the home; his daughter, Martha Crotts Evans; his son, G. Michael Crotts; and his granddaughter, Melissa Lynn Evans all of Winston-Salem and his sister, Thelma E. Crotts of Kernersville. The funeral service will be conducted Friday at 11:00 am at South Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Sewell officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center and Palliative Care for their many kindnesses while he was in their care. Rejoicing in his Savior's promises of life everlasting.
