George A. Canter, Jr.

Mr. George A. Canter, Jr., 69, of Mocksville, passed away April 12, 2016 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born August 9, 1946 in Forsyth County to Nancy ""Natler"" Renegar Canter and George A. Canter, Sr. Mr. Canter was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Green Meadows Baptist Church and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sue Bowles Canter in 2015. Surviving are a son, James R. Canter (Lisa); a daughter, Kathryn ""Kathy"" C. Evans (Shawn); three loving grandchildren, Kaitlin, Cody and Conner Evans and one sister, Jane Canter.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2016 at Green Meadows Baptist Church with Pastor Josh Greene officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Green Meadows Baptist Church Missions Fund, 1646 NC Hwy. 801 North, Mocksville, NC 27028 or to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
