Geneva Willard Stoltz

Mrs. Geneva Willard Stoltz, age 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on October 26, 1926 to the late John and Lelia Willard in Patrick County, Virginia. Mrs. Stoltz, formerly of 1661 Old Hollow Road in Winston-Salem, recently resided at Brighton Gardens Reminiscences neighborhood. Geneva was owner and operator of Stoltz's Beauty Shop. After her retirement she spent most of her spare time helping others, specializing in making quilts for area community groups. Mrs. Stoltz was a member of Beck's Baptist Church Quilters. Mrs. Stoltz was a member of Beck's Baptist Church for 71 years where she had many friends, especially associate pastor Dr. and Mrs. Ray Hamilton. Mrs. Stoltz was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Stoltz; three brothers, Jesse, John and Cecil; and a sister, Elma Rea. Geneva is survived by a daughter, Sandra (Jon) Johnson of Rural Hall, a son, R. Dennis (Karen) Stoltz of Murfreesboro, TN; three grandchildren, Matthew Johnson of Meriden, CT, Mark Johnson of Palo Alto, CA and Laura Stoltz of Chapel Hill, NC. She is also survived by brothers and sisters, Cletus Willard of Walkertown, Hester Mendenhall of Yadkinville, Ruby Waggoner of Walnut Cove, Gene Willard of Randleman, Don Willard of Reno, Nevada, Patricia Golding, Frances Sides and Betty Smith of Winston-Salem. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 PM Wednesday, November 26 at Beck's Baptist Church with Dr. Ray Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:15 at the church prior to the service. The family would like to especially thank the staff at Brighton Gardens for the wonderful care and love shown to Grandma while she resided there. We would also like to thank the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for the many blessings we received during that stay. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
