Of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on March 28, 2016 surrounded by family as a result of cancer. Loving wife of the late William E. Cramer Jr. and Richard H. Shea; sister to the late Elsie Evans, Fred and Harris Brogan, Wilma MacPherson, and Minnie Smith; beloved mother to William E. Cramer III and the late Bruce and Brett Cramer; much-loved grandmother to Alison and Brett Cramer Jr., Eric and Julianne Cramer, and Elizabeth and Conor Wendt; and great-grandmother to Zachary Cramer. Mrs. Shea was born on July 28, 1922 in Franklin County, VA, attended Longwood College and over the years, settled and worked in Washington, DC. prior to her marriage. Residing both in Florida and Northern Virginia before settling at Heritage Woods in Winston-Salem in 2013, Geneva was an active and loving family woman, having written a memoir about growing up in a humble but happy family in Franklin County and her eventual marriage, motherhood, and very family-centered life. Mrs. Shea will be buried in Arlington Cemetery near her late husband, Richard Shea. Local funeral arrangements are being handled by Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home. A private service will be held at Heritage Woods. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice & Palliative Care, 101 Hospice Ln. Winston-Salem, 27103.
