Geneva Hays Sansbury

Mrs. Geneva Hays Sansbury passed away January 7, 2012 at home after a long battle with Alzheimers disease and Parkinsons. Geneva was born September 22, 1928, in Lebanon, Kentucky. She was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church and later became an active member of Watkins Memorial Methodist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman Pryor (Pete) Hays and Edna Myers Hays, her sisters Tillie Hays McLain, Elizabeth Nan Hayes Hourigan, Betty Lou Hayes Harmon. Surviving is her sister Ethel Pryor Hays Hamilton of Bardstown, Kentucky and four nieces and six nephews. She will lovingly be remembered by her daughter, Edna Lynn Sansbury McMahan and her husband, Edgar McMahan. Gigi was loved by her grandchildren Stacy Ford and husband Adam (Paducah, KY.) Christy Reece and husband Jimmy (Advance, N.C.) Jason McMahan (Clemmons, N.C.) and her great grandchildren Cooper Ford, Allison Reese, Cannon Ford, Gavin Hays Reece and Cecily Lynn Ford. Geneva retired from General Telephone Company after 38 years of dedicated service, where she was a telephone operator in Lebanon, Kentucky and moved to Campbellsville, Kentucky. After retiring she made her home in Louisville, Kentucky. In 2001 she became ill and moved to Advance, North Carolina to live with her daughter. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon, Kentucky. The family will receive friends from 11-1 PM at the funeral home prior to the service. The family would like to thank Hospice for all their love and support.
