Geneva Childress Pendry

Mrs. Geneva Childress Pendry, 81, of Kernersville, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015.

Geneva was born May 18, 1933 in Surry County to the late Grover and Flora Bell Childress. She loved working in her yard and flowers, and was also a dog lover. In addition to her parents, Geneva was predeceased by her husband, William Curtis Pendry, two brothers, and 3 sisters.

Geneva is survived by her son, Gary Pendry, of the home; daughters, Phyllis Long and husband Dale and Karen Baugher and husband Forrest, all of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Tiffany Long, Jeremy Long, Caleb Baugher, and Zachary Baugher; brothers, Clayton Childress and wife Nettie and Leonard Childress and wife Louise; sister, Frances Madelene Holbrook; a host of nieces and nephews; and special neighbors, Carolyn & Budd and Sean & Robin.

A celebration of Geneva's life will be held Monday, February 2, 2015 at 2 pm at Parkview Church of God, 3263 Kernersville Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27107. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm - 2 pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 2 pm at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
