Geneva Coalson Nixon

Mrs. Geneva Coalson Nixon, 79, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015 at her home. She was born August 24, 1936 in Surry County to the late Clifford Decosta Coalson and Susie Puckett Coalson. Mrs. Nixon was a member of Cross Road Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nixon was preceded in death by her husband, William Patterson Nixon; one brother, Mitchell Coalson; and her sister, Ruth Hamlin. She is survived by her son, Rocky Van Nixon (Irene); daughter, Angela Estrada-Escobar (Dublas); five grandchildren: Rebecca Sabnani (Hari), Crystal Burgio, Eric Nixon (Kendal), Tenaya Nixon, and Jacob Nixon; 17 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Mac Coalson (Ethel) and Jimmy Coalson (Karen).

A funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 29 at Cross Road Baptist Church in East Bend with Pastor George Goggins officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, September 28 at the church.
