Geneva Lineback Dowell

Mrs. Geneva Lineback Dowell, 93, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at the Regency Care Center in Clemmons. She was born March 3, 1918 in Forsyth County to Melvin and Bertie Temple Lineback. Mrs. Dowell graduated from North Junior High School and retired from Carolina Narrow Fabric Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Foy Dowell; a sister, Louise Bodenheimer and a brother, Cecil Lineback. Surviving are one daughter, Mary Lou Alberty (Pete) of Mocksville; one son, Robert ""Gene"" Dowell (Becky) of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Rocky Alberty (Susan), Sandy Melton (David), Dana Cline (Jeff) and Debbie Hedrick (Matt) and six great grandchildren, Brandon Hedrick (Nicole), Taylor Hedrick, Grayson Alberty, Savannah Alberty, Robert Cline and Cody Melton. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2011 at Pinedale Christian Church with Pastor Bill McKenzie, Pastor Bob McCaskill and Pastor Will Pryor officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
