Gene Pruitt

Samuel E. ""Gene"" Pruitt passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after a short illness. Gene was the youngest son born to Thomas B. and Bessie Pruitt. He was a faithful employee of Piedmont/ US Airways for 33 years working in Winston-Salem and Greensboro. He loved watching NASCAR races and working with his nephew Barry Elliott framing houses. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Randy, a brother, and several sisters. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia of the home; two sons, Robert Pruitt (Lisa) of Winston-Salem and Jeffrey Pruitt of Greensboro; his special sister, ""Pete Elliott"" of Winston-Salem; his sister, Betty Reavis of Boonville and a brother, Leon Pruitt of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A graveside service will be at 1:00pm, Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Parklawn Memorial Park in Winston-Salem. The family would like to thank all the caring and loving nurses at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for all their special care given to our loved one. The family request that any memorials be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
