Gearline Sutphin McGuire

WALKERTOWN-Gearline ""Gerri"" Sutphin McGuire, 78, passed away Monday, September 08, 2014 with her family by her side. Gerri, affectionately known to most as ""Granny"", was born July 28, 1936 in Forsyth Co. to the late Arthur and Connie Laramore Sutphin.

She retired from AT&T after 24 years of service and held several positions with the Pioneers and Wenoca Club. Gerri was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Michael McGuire; and a sister, Helen Parkes.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Mark McGuire; daughter, Kelly McGuire; granddaughter, Ashley Adams; great-grandchildren, Austin and Hailey Adams; sister, Merle Conrad; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Dr. Bobby Roberson officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon prior to the service at the funeral home.
