Gay Nell Whiteheart

Walkertown - Gay Nell Aaron Whiteheart, 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 23, 2025. She was born in Forsyth County to Moyer Garfield Aaron and Jane Elizabeth “Betsy” Maurer. Gay Nell was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church for over 50 years.

In addition to her parents, Gay Nell was preceded in death by her husband, Garry Steven “Steve” Whiteheart, brothers Garland Aaron and Mike Aaron, her sisters Gloria Jean Triplett and Terri Childress.

Surviving are her children, Scotty, Jeff (Lori), Garry (Kelly) and Rebecca (Brian) Vanderford; grand-children, Kimberly (Chip), Matthew (Melissa), Andrew (Heather), Jacob, Nathan, Trent, Grayson, Mollie, Jonathan, and Abigail; and 8 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Sue Ann Vandiver, William Aaron (Lisa), sisters-in-law Judy Fulp, Joyce Vanderlinden (Steve), Claudine Whiteheart, and Sue Whiteheart; many precious nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special family friend, Joanna Smith.

Gay Nell devoted her life to loving and caring for her family. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with her whole heart. She will be dearly missed by all, but her family is forever blessed to have endless beautiful memories of how she touched and influenced their lives.

A funeral service for Gay Nell will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. A private family interment will follow the service. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
