Gary Samuel Long of Winston-Salem died unexpectedly Saturday, February 5, 2011. He was born in Forsyth County on February 19, 1951 to the late Samuel Augustus and Helen Faircloth Long. He was a graduate of Parkland High School and attended N.C. State University. He was employed at REXAM for 35 years. As a baby he was christened at Advent Moravian Church and later was received as a communicant member of Advent. He played in the church band and also was a member of the Boy Scout Troop at the church. He is survived by a son, Brian Samuel Long and wife Kristin of Grayson, GA; two grandchildren, Carson and Camryn Long of Grayson, GA; a sister, Carole L. Long of Winston-Salem; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A graveside service will be held at Advent Moravian Church on Friday, February 11 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church fellowship hall following the service.
