Gary F. Yarbrough

Mr. Gary F. Yarbrough, 74, of Mocksville, NC, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Gary was born in Forsyth County, NC, on September 17, 1949, to the late Fred and Mozelle Yarbrough.

Gary reached the rank of captain within the Winston-Salem Fire Department, after serving the community for 20 plus years.

After his retirement in 1993, Gary was a valued asset at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home until his passing. As a past time, Gary also enjoyed taxidermy projects out of his home, fishing with his children and grandchildren, and trips to the beach with his family.

Gary and Sharon attended Redland Church, IPHC in Advance, NC, where he served in many capacities.

Gary is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sharon Fulp Yarbrough; two sons, Jason (JJ) Yarbrough of Lexington, NC, and Brooks Yarbrough of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; three grandsons, Alex, Ethan and Seth Yarbrough; family friend, William Abrams of Ft Lauderdale, FL; two brothers, Roger (Bennie) and David (Penny) Yarbrough; a sister, Faye (Ben) Norman; a brother-in-law, Garland K. Fulp; and several other family members.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Tim Dunn and Pastor Becky Pierce officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103, in Gary’s name.
