Gary Craver

Gary Dale Craver, 83, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at his home. Gary was born on August 14, 1938 in Davidson County to the late Fred Hamilton Craver and Allie Fine Craver. He grew up in Wallburg and graduated from Wallburg High School. Gary served as a member of the Wallburg Town Council and on March 2, 2019 he was inducted into the Davidson County Republican Hall of Fame. He retired from Lorillard Tobacco after 29 years of employment. In his free time, Gary loved to take his boats out on Lake Norman. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Warren; son, Dale Craver; eight siblings, Dot Poole, R.C. Craver, Howard “Dink” Craver, Wade Craver, Joe Craver, Corrine Saintsing, Bill Craver and Ted Craver. Surviving family includes his loving wife, Jane Craver; four children, Phillip Craver (Laura), Linda Vest (Brian), Mark Randleman (Kay) and Keith Randleman (April); six grandchildren, Bryan Craver, Tucker Craver, Kendall Craver, Brandon Randleman, William Vest and Evan Vest; siblings, Faye Kanoy, Don Craver and Tony Craver; and many special nieces, nephews and extended family. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Andy Craver officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
