Gary Ijames Chaffin

Mr. Gary Ijames Chaffin, 70, of Winston-Salem passed away Monday, October 10, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born October 3, 1941 in Davie County to Stacy Hanes and Inez Ijames Chaffin. Mr. Chaffin was preceded in death by three brothers, Norman, Dale and Morgan and a sister, Eloise Stephens. He is survived by his wife, Sue Chaffin of the home; a son, Stacey Chaffin (Jonna) of Mocksville; a daughter, Julie Cline (Patrick) of Greensboro; a step-daughter, Sandra Mayberry (Chris) of Charlotte; five grandchildren, Ashton and Jessie Chaffin, Garrett and Lauren Cline and Logan Mayberry. Also surviving are two sisters, Doris Kurfees of Harmony and Bonnie Gunter (Charles) of Mocksville and a brother, Thurmond ""Buster"" Chaffin (Sadie) of Florida. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Rev. John Jackman officiating. Burial will follow in Ijames Baptist Church Cemetery in Mocksville. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
