Mr. Garry David ""Short Stuff"" Warden, 63, of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, March 21, 2009 at his home. He was born January 15, 1946 to John David and Mamie Sykes Warden. Mr. Warden was an active fisherman and was a member of AMVETS in Winston-Salem. He was the owner of Short Stuff's Painting. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patsy W. Harp; many aunts and uncles; and a cousin, Frankie Lowery. Surviving are his daughter, Cynthia Lynn Warden of Winston-Salem; his sister, Carolyn W. Brooks of East Bend; one grandson, David S. Warden; nephews, Ronnie Brooks and wife Leigh of Clemmons, Matt Harp, Mark Harp and Neal Brooks, all of King; nieces, Sarah Studard and partner Jennifer of East Bend, Rachel Cremeans and husband Bryce of King, Barbara Boyter and husband William of Advance, and Chrissa Southern and husband David of Kernersville; great nephews, Blake Brooks, Kyle and Sean Studard, Justin McIntire, Tyler, John, and one to be born in June, Cremeans, and Chris Stewart; great nieces, Lauren and Sarah Boyter, Brianna Horn, Nikki, Cathlene, and Hope Strader, Chloe Cremeans, and Joyce Dawn Southern; a brother-in-law, P.D. Matherley and wife Norma; cousins who were like brothers to him, Steve Lowery and Phil Sykes; he was also blessed with many aunts, uncles and cousins that he loved; loves of his life, Shirley Warden Cobb, Kathy M. Canter and Beverly C. Roberson; ""other"" mom and dad, David Matherley and Jetty Blake; devoted co-workers and friends, Ricky Greer and Franklin Browning. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 27 at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Sandra Bovender officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to Feed the Children, P.O.
