Garry Mikels

Mr. Garry Neal Mikels, 53, passed away Friday morning, May 28, 2021 surrounded by loved ones at his home. Garry was born in Forsyth County on September 8, 1967, to Ben Mikels and Nancy Crews Mikels. Garry began his career with Hanes Dye and Finishing, followed by Logan’s Home Energy Services, and most recently Lowe’s Home Improvement. Garry’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, and collecting cars. Most importantly, Garry was a wonderful father and family man. Garry was married to Valerie Dawn Mikels for 25 years who preceded him in death. He then married Stephanie Adams Mikels who also preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, Hunter Mikels (Taylor Evans); his parents, Ben and Nancy Mikels; one brother, Randy Mikels; one sister, Sharon Summerlin; his dog, Darbie; and many loving extended family and friends. A 2:00 P.M. funeral service will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Rural Hall with Pastor Jesse Butcher and Pastor Tommy Holder officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Hayworth-Miller. The family would like to thank Community Home Care and Hospice for their support during Garry’s illness.
