Mr. Garry Wayne Lineback, 70, passed away Saturday February 1, 2025. He was born on October 11, 1954, in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Jack Hester Lineback and Ruby Florence Scott Lineback Rogers. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepfather, Ray Rogers. Garry liked classic cars, loved listening to music, watching sports and NASCAR. He retired from the Winston-Salem Journal after 30 years as a carrier. Garry would always go out of his way to please his customers. He enjoyed going out to eat. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Ronda Lineback; two children, Jacqueline Amanda “Mandy” Lineback and Jason Wayne Lineback; three step-children, Kim Williams (Chip), Matt Whiteheart (Melissa), and Andrew Whiteheart (Heather); nine grandchildren, Kevin Lineback, Noah Stutts, Max Williams, Kaylee Williams, Harry Williams, Finn Whiteheart, Ira Whiteheart, Rhett Whiteheart, and Luke Whiteheart; and several cousins. The family would like to give a special thank you to Kelley Waite, Dr. Alex Waite, and Mountain Valley Hospice for their care given to Garry. A funeral service will be conducted at 11am Friday, February 7, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Bro. Jim Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, NC. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel.
