Garrett William Griggs

Our beloved son, Garrett William Griggs, 35, of Lexington, NC, passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2024. 

Garrett was born in Winston-Salem, NC. He was the youngest son of Lonnie Gray Griggs (Statesville) and Judy Osborne Lupo (Rural Hall). Garrett was self-employed and the owner of "Bottom Dollar Medz". He attended Woodland Baptist School and graduated from Calvary Baptist Day School, where he played varsity soccer. Garrett attended Appalachian State University where he was on the Dean's List before transferring to Pembroke University of NC in order to care for his frail grandmother. Garrett graduated with a degree in Business Administration. 

Preceding Mr. Griggs in death was his older brother, Preston Gray Griggs. Mr. Griggs is survived by his dearly loved wife, Sharon Jones-Griggs; son, Landon Jones of the home; and three brothers, Cody Griggs (Emily), Jared Griggs (Statesville), and Troy Griggs (Nicole). Also, he would like us to include his "other dad" Ed Lupo; special "aunt", Sharon Pressley; and his adorable nephew and niece, Daxon Gray and Ava Mae.

Our son had struggled since the loss of his brother Preston. The grief and pain had taken a huge toll on him emotionally and physically. Our happy joking son was struggling to handle the pain on his own. He will be so missed! Garrett would want all of us to remember only the good times we had as a family! 

A celebration of his precious life will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 12 noon at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Tim Gammons officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow the service at Parklawn Memorial Park.
