King Mrs. Garlene Disher Evans, age 76 of King passed away Wednesday evening October 21, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Evans was born in Forsyth County August 3, 1933 to the late Elbert Larkin and late Cynthia Rebecca Snow Disher. She was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Winston-Salem and retired from RJR Tobacco Company. In addition to her parents Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her former husband Clarence Gilley, one son: James Larkin Gilley one step-son Bryon Evans and a sister Mozelle Collins. Surviving is her husband of 13 years: Marshall Ray Evans of the home. Two daughters: Rebecca (Jonathan) Lawson of King and Cindy (Jeff) Bost of Concord, two step-sons Ray (Darlene) Evans and Joe (Teresa) Evans Five grandchildren Benjamin (Katie) Lawson and Phillip Lawson, William, Andrew, and Elizabeth Bost. Eight step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren. One brother Bobby Disher of Supply, NC and one sister Blanche Ratliff of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon October 24, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Gospel Light Baptist Church by Dr. Bobby Roberson. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Winston-Salem The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday evening at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
