Gail Lawrence

Gail Childers Lawrence, of Winston-Salem, passed a way on Tuesday October 8, 2024 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Gail was born in Lenoir on February 28, 1938, to the late John Melvin Childers and Ruby Hayes Childers. She graduated from Lenoir High School and while working for Southern Bell, Gail earned many college credits to advance her education. After retiring from Southern Bell, Gail and her husband Terry bought and operated Clemmons Citgo and Clemmons Tow Service. Gail loved the Lord, her family, friends, and dogs. She served as Nursery Superintendent at Clemmons Baptist Church, concession stand worker at her son’s football games and Girl Scout leader for her daughters’ troop. She was a longtime member of Winston-Salem First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Gail was preceded in death by her husband Terry T. Lawrence Sr., her daughter, Janet Clifton, and her step-daughter, Erika Mehmood. She is survived by her children, Karen Seipert (John), Randy Greene (Gale) and Joseph Greene, as well as her stepchildren, Wendy Lawrence, Terry Lawrence Jr. (Veronica), Monte Lawrence, and Crystal Jones (Al). Gail is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Winston-Salem First Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Trés Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir, NC. At 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, https://alzfdn.org/
