Frederick S. Kutach

Mr. Frederick S. Kutach, 86, of Winston-Salem died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 in the Palliative Care Unit at Forsyth Medical Center surrounded by his two daughters. He was born November 13, 1926 in Worthing, TX. Mr. Kutach was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Santa Maria Lodge #2829. He served with the US Navy during World War II. He started his career with Lever Brothers in Houston, TX and retired from R. J. Reynolds Industries in Winston-Salem. He was an avid golfer and worked as a Golf Ranger at Tanglewood Park. He was a wonderful grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Joanne Krapac and his mother and stepfather, Emil J. and Clara Kutach Svoboda. Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Kutach Hedgecock and husband, Ronnie of Lexington and Karen Kutach Aftergut and husband, Jeff of Springfield, VA; two grandsons, C. J. Aftergut and Isaac Aftergut of Springfield, VA; one brother-in-law, William Krapac and wife, Norma Sue of McComb, MS; one nephew, Dr. Stephen Paul Krapac, II and wife, Beth of Vicksburg, MS; one niece, Suzanne Krapac Laird and husband, Greg of Jackson, MS; great nieces and nephew, Megan and Will Laird of Jackson, MS and Hannah and Sarah Krapac of Vicksburg, MS. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Friday at 1:30 pm at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Father Brian Cook and Rev. G. Thomas Shelton will officiate. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service at Mr. Kutach's home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Chemoflage, 5602 Brooke Ridge Drive, Dunwoody, GA 30338.
