Fred "Don" James

Mr. Fred Donald “Don” James, 87, passed away Friday, July 8, 2022.  He was born February 23, 1935, in Forsyth County to the late Fred Strickland James and Betty Myers James.  Don graduated from Clemmons High School, class of 1953.  He then married the love his life, Dolores Sprinkle James, July 3, 1954.  Don worked for McLean Trucking for 20 plus years, and after that worked security for Winston-Salem Health Care until his retirement.  He loved to help people anyway he could, always putting their needs ahead of his own.  Don was of the Christian faith and was a caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy James and half-sister, Lucille Tinkler.  In addition to his loving wife of 68 years, Don is survived by his son, Stephen James, Sr. (Sandy); three grandchildren: Stephen James, Jr. (Melissa), Shawn James, and Samantha Joyner (Colby); and two great-grandchildren, Rowan James and Kendall James.
