Fred Samuel Sink

Mr. Fred Samuel Sink, 79, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 at his home. He was born July 12, 1937 in Forsyth County, the son of the late, John Ray and Ella Grace Fishel Sink. Mr. Sink was retired from Holsum Bakery. He was a talented mechanic and could fix anything. He loved working on old cars and tractors, especially his ‘55 Ford and ‘60 Corvair. He also enjoyed the outdoors and loved cutting wood in the winter, fishing and hunting. He adored watching his grandchildren play ball in his yard and seeing them graduate from High School and College. He had a large collection of hats and loved his dogs over the years, Sandy and Rambo and his cat, Tiger. He could strike up a conversation with just about anyone and loved picking, joking and teasing his family, friends and the caregivers who assisted him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia B. Sink and his nephew, Charles Freeman Hopkins. Survivors include one daughter, Anita Dollarhite (Thomas) of Winston-Salem; two sons, Samuel Sink of Winston-Salem and John Sink (Gwen) of Cornelius; four grandchildren, Samantha Dollarhite and Spencer Dollarhite of Winston-Salem and McKenzie Sink and Ryan Sink of Cornelius; two sisters, Dorothy Bedsaul and Evelyn Suttle both of Winston-Salem and one niece, Linda Rich of Winston-Salem. The funeral service will be conducted Monday at 2:30 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. John Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
