Mr. Fred Davis Lynch, 96, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2015, at his residence. Mr. Lynch was born on March 14, 1919, in Stokes County, NC to the late James Walter Lynch and Mattie Frye Lynch. Fred served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from Hanes Knitting and was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Lynch and two sisters, Ora Lee Tucker and Elva Palmer. Mr. Lynch is survived by his wife, Sue Carter Lynch of the home; one son, Michael Fred Lynch and wife, Virginia of Pfafftown, NC; one daughter, Gilda Lynch-King and husband, Chuck of Advance, NC; two grandsons, Chad Lynch and Todd Lynch and wife, Jaime; two great-grandchildren, Davis and Eva; two brothers, Frank Lynch and wife, Vicky and Jim Lynch and wife, Jenny; and numerous other loving family members, friends, and caregivers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Gus Thomas and Dr. Cecil Cave officiating. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hospice of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or Mineral Springs Baptist Church, 5460 Skylark Rd., Pfafftown, NC 27040.
