Fred Harold Lee

WALNUT COVE - Fred Harold Lee, 89, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at his home. Fred was born on August 7, 1935 in Pittsylvania County, VA to John and Annie Neal Lee. Losing his biological mother at the age of three, his life was blessed by his step mother, Grace Lee.

Fred retired from RJR Archer after 30 years of service. He was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Sandy Ridge, where he served as a Deacon and was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. Fred loved Jesus, his family and his church family and friends. He was a great witness to others, traveling abroad multiple times as a missionary. Fred was also a member of the Baptist Men Disaster Assistance Group and provided a home for six months to Rafael Botelho, a foreign exchange student who was attending South Stokes High School at the time. 

In addition to his parents, Fred was also preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette and son, Ricky Lee. 

Surviving are his wife, Nancy Lee; two daughters, Susan Lee and Barbara Gibson (Bill); four grandchildren, Matthew Bell (Emily), Mark Bell (Suzanne), Jennifer Gosh (Jack), and Lori Powell (Brian); ten great grandchildren, John (Raegan), Jeremiah, Emma, Colt, Addie, Levi, Joy, Maverick, Tristan, and Thomas; one sister, Janett Stuart; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Mike Sands officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
