Winston-Salem – Mr. Fred Wilson Hepler, 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 14, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Forsyth County, NC January 9, 1928. Fred was a member of Morris Chapel and a Sunday School teacher at the church. Mr. Hepler had a wonderful career life, able to retire from The Air Force after 20 years of service as a communications specialist, and from RJR after another 20 years of service.
In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Elise Cooke Hepler. He is survived by one daughter, Sharon Hepler; one son, Mark Hepler (wife, Jo); two grandchildren, Noah Hepler and Diana Martin; three great grandchildren, Madison Born, Skyler Denny, and Eli Knowles; numerous nieces and nephews, and two special caregivers, Shannon, and Sophronia.
A funeral service for Fred will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeff Coppley and Samantha Wesley officiating. Interment will follow the service at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Trellis Supportive Care at 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. They would also like to express their gratitude to Trellis for their help during this difficult time. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
