Mr. Franklin Harper Spaugh, 85, of Kernersville died Monday, January 24, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born January 21, 1926 in Forsyth County, the son of the late, Henry Martin and Phobie Sells Spaugh. Mr. Spaugh was a member of Trinity Moravian Church where he was active in the Senior Friends. He was a volunteer for over 30 years at Sunnyside Clinic. He served with the US Army during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth B. Spaugh of the home; one daughter, Nancy Spaugh of the home; two sisters-in-law, Lorene Bowman of Kernersville and Irene Bumgardener of Winston-Salem and his chosen family. The funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 3:00 PM at Trinity Moravian Church with Rev. John Jackman and Rev. Russell Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Moravian Graveyard.
