Mr. Franklin D. McNew, Jr. 51, of Winston-Salem, and formerly of Burlington County New Jersey, passed away on May 29, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. Franklin was born in Mount Holly, NJ to Franklin and Florence McNew. Franklin was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and building anything and everything that had to do with wood. He also enjoyed putting model cars together but most important, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He was a member of the UWC for over 25 years, supporting Toys for Tots. Franklin was preceded in death by his grandparents,. Surviving are his loving wife, Lori McNew of Winston-Salem; two daughters, Erika McNew of N.J.; Nichole Forvour-McNew of Winston-Salem.; one son, Jonathan McNew of N.J.; two grandsons, Aiden and Tyler McNew of N.J.; parents, Franklin and Florence McNew of N.J.; three sisters Faith Tiver-Foran and husband Gregory of N.J., Judy Worrell and husband John of Co., Heidi Eichenberger and husband Robert of N.J.; one brother, Robert McNew and wife Sharon of P.A.; also surviving is his special dog, Pumpkin. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Pastor Timmothy Day officiating. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek is serving the family.
