Franklin Haley Freeman

KERNERSVILLE - Franklin Haley Freeman, 72, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born May 4, 1939 in Red Hill, SC to the late Willie Boyd Freeman, Sr. and Bertha Jane Haley Freeman. Mr. Freeman was a member and senior board member of Faith Assembly of God in Kernersville for over 25 years. He retired from Spartan Manufacturing in Kernersville. Franklin was an avid coon hunter, mule rider and outdoorsman. He was an excellent husband and provider who loved his family. Franklin loved wearing his western hat and cowboy boots. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie Boyd Freeman, Jr., James Wesley Freeman, Fred Collins Freeman; and sister, Betty Jackson. Surviving are his wife, Sandra Murdoch Freeman of the home; two daughters, Julie Chambers and husband, Joe, of Kings Mtn, Lisa DePrato of TN; two sons, David McMurtry and wife, Jane, of Kernersville, Todd Freeman and wife, Diane, of Walkertown; three sisters Ruth Robinson, of Seattle WA, Sue Parker of Blenheim, SC, and Berta Jenkins, of Trinity, NC; grandchildren, Mary, Bert, Wesley, Justin, Kevin, Joe Jr., Hannah, Catherine, Caroline, Emily, and Cassie; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2011 at Faith Assembly of God in Kernersville with Pastor Allen Byerly officiating. Burial will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery.
