Frank Daniel Tatum

Mr. Frank Daniel (Dan) Tatum, 85, passed away peacefully Friday morning, March 4, 2016. He was born on February 6, 1931 to the late Charles Tatum and Ruby Newsome Tatum of Forsyth County. After serving in the Army in Germany, Dan had an extensive career in show business in the late 50's and 60's singing with greats like Teresa Brewer and Patti Page. In 1977, after becoming a Christian, he began recording Gospel music and singing in churches all over the U.S. Upon retiring, he became the Director of Music at Bread of Life Baptist Church in Mocksville where he served the last 16 years of his life. He is preceded in death by his brother Charles and his sisters Ruby Hicks and Kathleen Thomas. He is survived by his sister Celia Luttrell of Knoxville, brother C.B. Tatum of Winston-Salem, and son Michael Fleischer of Winston-Salem, daughter-in-law Caroline, his beloved grandchildren John Daniel (Jack) and Joel Scott, and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45PM on Sunday, March 6th, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the funeral service following the visitation at 1:45 PM with Keith Eddinger Officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
