Frank Reid Cook

Frank ""Reid"" Cook of Advance, NC passed away quietly on Monday, August 5, 2013. He was born July 10, 1927 in Winston-Salem to Everette and Annie Carter Cooke. With seven brothers and sisters, he was preceded in death by Leon Cooke, Estelle Winfrey, Sam Cooke, Arthur ""Ott"" Cooke, and Jo Brannock. He is survived by sisters Earlene Naylor and Elsie Hepler, three children, Danny Cook of Riverview, Florida, Sandra Beeson of Winston-Salem, and Lance Cook of Walnut Cove; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He graduated from Hanes High School and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. After a brief career at Southern Bell Telephone, he went to work for Piedmont Airlines in 1949 where he retired after 38 years as Superintendent of Maintenance. Services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
