Mr. Frank Coleman, 78, of Winston-Salem passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at his home. He was born July 22, 1930 in Davidson County to Thomas Vaughn and Florence Ward Coleman. Mr. Coleman was a very active member of Christ Wesleyan Church where he was the leader of the JOY Group and a former member of the local board. He was also a member of the Gospel Grass Band. He was retired from AT&T with 36 years of service. Mr. Coleman was a gifted musician and played the guitar, saxophone and mandolin. He was a former member of Frank Coleman's Combo and was a master gardener, fisherman, and world's greatest grandpa. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Rhonda Andrews and Janice Gregory; and two brothers, Donald and Clifton. Surviving is his loving wife of 58 years, Donna Gail Coleman of the home; one daughter, Carol Brooks and fiancé© Tim Hardy of Lewisville; six grandchildren, Shane Chandler, Jason Gregory, Preston and Clay Andrews, Hannah Gail and Bradley Brooks; three great grandchildren, Shayne Gail Chandler, Jessica Goodson and Aimee Gregory; two sisters, Mildred Widener of Winston-Salem and Emma Moore of Mocksville; and his loving church family. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 4 at Christ Wesleyan Church with Dr. Joseph Jennings officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Coleman will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
