Mr. Francis King Trogdon, III, 84, of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. He was born February 16, 1931 in Forsyth County to the late Juanita Transou and Francis King Trogdon, II. Mr. Trogdon was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was also active in the prison ministry. He graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel-Hill in 1953 and retired from the North Carolina Department of Labor, OSHA division. He was preceded in death by his brother, Calvin L. Trogdon. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Trogdon; one son, David Trogdon (wife Candace); one daughter, Lisa Stack (husband Paul); two grandchildren, Caleb and Megan Stack; nephew, Brad Trogdon and numerous nieces and nephews, all of Winston-Salem. Also surviving are David's birth mother JoAnn Lanier; sister-in-law, Sue Hughes; and brother-in-law, The Rt. Rev. James C. Hughes. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Olivet Moravian Church by Dr. Gary Chapman, Rev. Gary Byrum and Rev. Matthew W. Allen.
