Frances Nichols Saylor

Mrs. Frances Nichols Saylor, 101, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, October 7, 2010 at The Oaks at Forsyth. She was born December 13, 1908 in Wilkes County to John Anderson and Annie Pierce Nichols. Mrs. Saylor was a charter member of Bethesda Moravian Church since she was 14 years old, and taught Sunday School until her 90th birthday. She loved baking Moravian cookies each year, and making jewelry boxes. She also loved children. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Pride Franklin Saylor; two sisters, Grace N. Pickens and Merle Maines; and two brothers, Sears and Charles Nichols. Surviving are several nieces and nephews; and a special friend and caregiver, Peggy M. Priest of East Bend and her six children who adopted Mrs. Saylor as their grandmother many years ago. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 9 at Bethesda Moravian Church with Dr. Henry May, the Rev. Jeff Priest and Lynn Stanley officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
