Frances Saunders

Winston-Salem- Mrs. Frances New Saunders, 81, passed away Sunday, September 03, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born May 13, 1936 in Forsyth County, the daughter of Harry and Alma Henderson New. She was retired from RJR Tobacco with 26 years of loyal service. A member of Berean Baptist Church, she was very active and volunteered with their education and music programs. She was also a member of the choir for numerous years, but foremost she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to many. She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters. Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Jimmie Lee Saunders, Sr.; two sons, Jimmie L. Saunders, Jr. and wife, Kim of Richlands, MI and Keith R. Saunders, and wife, Shon of Lexington; two grandchildren, Kelsey Jean and Brook Alicia and two brothers, Harry E. New, Jr. and Paul D. New both of Winston-Salem. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Berean Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Baity officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday September 4, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
