Frances Louise Johnson Ryan

Frances Louise Johnson Ryan, 83, wife of Robert C. Ryan, Jr. of Winston-Salem died July 24, 2010 at Arboretum at the Woodlands in Greenville, SC. She was born February 18, 1927 in Winston-Salem to the late Robert L. Johnson, Sr. and Mary Sheppard Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband and her siblings, Robert Johnson, Jr., David Johnson, and Donald Johnson and a daughter-in-law, Hazel Turner Ryan. Mrs. Ryan was a member of Hope Moravian Church and a member of the Women's Fellowship. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, baking, fishing at the beach, sewing, making chicken pies at the church, and spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends. Mrs. Ryan is survived by a son Calvin Lee Ryan (Phyllis) of Olympia, WA; a daughter, Sandra Ryan Mills (Mark) of Greenville, SC; two grandchildren, Luke Mills (Katie) of Wellford, SC and Amy Mills of Greenville, SC; a sister, Margaret Collett of High Point and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Hope Moravian Church with the Rev. David Merritt officiating. Interment will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
