Mrs. Frances Rollings Roberts,73, of Winston-Salem died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born November 2, 1938 in Jefferson, SC, the daughter of the late, Wilbert and Edith Mae Price Rollings. Mrs. Roberts was a graduate of Jefferson High School where she was Captain of the Girl's Basketball Team. She was a Legal Secretary for R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company retiring following 24 years of service. Having the gift of hospitality, Mother opened her home to share her culinary skills and took pride in knowing her grandchildren also had a passion for entertaining. She was a member of The Red Hat Society and served as ""Queen of the Royal Rubies."" Mother was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a wonderful example of II Timothy 4:7, ""I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."" Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Jack B. Roberts, Sr. of the home; two sons, Jack ""Jay"" Roberts and wife, Denise of Lexington and Kyle G. Roberts of Annapolis, MD; one daughter, Crystal Roberts Thomas and husband, Jay of Winston-Salem; seven grandchildren, Heather Roberts Satter and husband, Rob, Erin Roberts Roach and husband, Eric, Haydn Crystal Thomas, Sydney Morgan Thomas, Madisyn Jayne Thomas, Jackson Price Thomas and Lincoln Bradley Thomas; and one great grandson, Robbie Satter. The funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Byrum officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. Following the service at the cemetery, the family will return to Calvary Baptist Church for visitation with family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Susan J. Hines, Debra Clark, PA, Michelle Turner, RN and Rita Upchurch, CMA of Piedmont Hematology-Oncology Associates and Richard C. Stephenson, MD of Hospice for their outstanding care of Mother during this difficult journey. Memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Visitation:
Following the service at the cemetery, the family will return to Calvary Baptist Church for visitation with family and friends.
