Frances Beeson Pope

Frances Mae Beeson Pope 90, of Winston-Salem died at her home Wednesday November 6, 2024. She was born July 7, 1934, the first daughter of seven siblings to Carl James and Margaret Marshall Beeson in Forsyth County. Frances and Jimmy Pope married July 6, 1955, in High Point and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2005. She began her work career at Kernersville Newspaper and retired from Wachovia Bank after 42 years of dedicated service where she made lifelong friends. Frances enjoyed growing a flower garden (zinnia being her favorite) and she always had country music playing on the radio unless Carolina Tarheels were on tv. Frances also had a gift for baking cakes and they were a big hit with family and church members at Friends Church events. Frances was a thoughtful gift and card giver. We will miss her dearly. 

Surviving are her husband, Jimmy Pope of 69 years, her children Kim (Terry) Manring, Keith (Renne) Pope, Kami (Kevin) Lewis and 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren whom "Grandmother" thought all smart and exceptional. Also surviving are her brothers Donald (Nancy), Allen Gayle (Joann), Gerald (Karen), sisters Helen Joyce, Deborah (Ray) Willig and Brenda Beeson. She was preceded in death by brothers Marvin (Miriam) and Jimmy.

A funeral service for Frances will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Jeff Barnes officiating. The family will informally visit with friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kernersville Friends Church (320 N. Main St. Kernersville, NC 27284) and Kate B. Hospice Home (101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103).
