Frances Norton Painter

Mrs. Frances Norton Painter, 85, passed away at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home on May 23, 2015. She was born on March 17, 1930 to James Norman Norton and Claudia Ellis Norton in Marion, NC. Following graduation from Wake Forest Baptist Hospital's School of Nursing, she worked at the hospital as an RN. Frances was a member of Waughtown Baptist Church and demonstrated her servant's heart by volunteering as a nurse at Goodwill. Frances was preceded in death by 2 sons, Norman Lee Painter, Jr. and Robert M. Painter and a daughter, Teresa Jane Ebert. Surviving are her husband, Norman L. Painter; son, James Painter (Donna); and daughter, Dorothy Thomas, all of Winston-Salem; 6 grandsons; 8 great grandchildren, as well as a brother, Jack Norton of GA. A funeral service will be held at 1:30pm on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Waughtown Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Brackett officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
