Mrs. Frances Anita Lombardo Leonard, 90, of Winston-Salem, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, on September 12, 1930, to the late Peter and Mary Manganaro Lombardo. Frances loved to sew, read, knit, cook, and entertain her family and friends. Most importantly, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.

In addition to her parents, Frances is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Francis Leonard; and three sisters: Valentina Titone, Maryann Giavacco, and Santina Scalise. Surviving are her two daughters, Jan Hanson and husband Dave and Santina Brown and husband Kevin; two sons, Larry Leonard and wife Jo-Anne and Peter Leonard and wife Nancy; eleven grandchildren: Tamara, Jennifer, Danielle, Andrew, Kelsey, Patrick, Josh, Brian, John, Karen, and Shannon; four great-grandchildren: Will, Savanna, Robbie, and Abby; and a sister, Jeannie Gervasi and husband Nick.

A funeral mass will be streamed live online in Frances’ honor at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. Please visit YouTube and search for “Holy Family Youth” for the link. A memorial mass and celebration of life will be held in person, covid-permitting, on Saturday, August 14, 2021. Further information will be provided to family and friends prior to that date.
