Mrs. Frances Olivia Howard Glascoe, 90, of Davidson County, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at her home. She was born November 25, 1923 in Forsyth County to Oliver Claudius and Mary Ann Money Howard. Mrs. Glascoe was a member of New Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, and loved her church and family. Frances enjoyed sewing and was well known for her desserts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aldine ""Dean"" Glascoe in 2003; a brother, Arnold Victor Howard; and two sisters, Josephine Leonard Shaver and Katie Jeanette Tesh. Surviving are three children, Deanna Brown, Larry Glascoe (Janet) and Frances Ann Nichols; six grandchildren, Gerri Dee Crummett (Bob), Donna Odrosky (Gary), Ray Brown (Robbin), Wesley Glascoe, Melissa Bradley (Bryan) and Jason Nichols (Stephanie); nine great grandchildren, Hope, Jonathan, Dustin, Scot, Jacob, Amanda, Taylor, Drew and Sarah; a sister, Georgia Byerly (Bobby); a special daughter, Sharon Persiani; and a special companion, Peanut. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 at New Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert McLawhorn officiating. Burial will follow in Old Vernon Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Davidson County. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
