Frances Louise Forcum

Miss. Frances Louise Forcum, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Pittsboro Christian Village in Pittsboro, NC. She was born in Forsyth County on September 10, 1920 the daughter of the late James ""Jimmy"" Forcum and Lura Dowdy Forcum. Miss Forcum dedicated her life to the Lord and contributed to His ministry by serving Him faithfully through the years as church organist and Sunday School teacher at Parkway Gospel Chapel and Fairoaks Gospel Chapel. She was also a camp counselor at Mountain Top Church Camp. Miss Forcum was employed at Hanes Knitting Co. for 50 years and later continued her employment at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center until she retired. All who know and love her, will miss her sweet spirit and loving nature. She was a second mom to many. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Marguerite Forcum Whetstone, her brother, James Forcum, and her nephews, Ray L. Gentry and Randall Gentry and a great-nephew, David Miller. Miss Forcum is survived by her brother, Robert Forcum of Belews Creek, her nieces, Leslie Cox of Walnut Cove, Linda Erwin of Flat Rock, Becky Shank of Moncure, Barbara Reichter of Belews Creek, Kathy Messer of Belews Creek and Becky Laws of Hubert, her nephews, Jim Forcum of Raleigh and Robert Forcum of Holly Springs, seven great-nieces and seven great-nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 prior to the service at the funeral on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Pittsboro Christian Village Benevolent Fund, 182 S.
