Mrs. Frances Ann Clowers, 83, passed away April 29, 2013 at Kernersville Medical Center. She was born May 25, 1929 in Guilford County to the late Grady Elias Dowd and Mary Patterson Dowd. She was a member of Trinity Moravian Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the choir. Mrs. Clowers retired as a teacher with Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools with 25 years of service. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds and gardening. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Jack W. Clowers; two sons, Daniel Clowers and wife Anne and David Clowers; two granddaughters, Caroline Clowers and Mary Katherine Clowers. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Trinity Moravian Church with the Rev. John Jackman and the Rev. Bill McElveen officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
