Forrest Atkins Tucker

Colfax - Mrs. Forrest A. Tucker, 96, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Tucker was born in Guilford County on November 23, 1919 to Will and Lillie Atkins. She was a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church and retired from Sears & Roebuck Co.

In addition to her parents, Forrest was preceded in death by her husband, F.M. Tucker and three sisters.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, M. Willard and Barbara C. Tucker of Greensboro; two grandchildren, Todd Tucker and wife, Elise of Peachtree, GA, and Debbie Roberson and husband, Mark of Charlotte; and four great grandchildren, Kaleigh and Tucker Roberson, Michael and McKenzie Tucker.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Chuck Peters officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Grove Baptist Church in Colfax. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caregivers for the kindness and love they gave Forrest during these years, and to Hospice for their tender help in her last days.
