Ford Mitchell "Mitch" Shore

Mr. Ford “Mitch” Shore passed away Tuesday morning, December 7, 2021, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mitch was born on May 19, 1953, in Elkin, NC. He retired from the R & D Machine Shop at R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. After retirement, Mitch enjoyed farming, tractors, and fly fishing. He loved growing enough food to donate to family, friends, and local food pantries. Mitch is survived by his wife Jonnie Shore; two sons Nick Shore, wife Mary Frances, and their children Zoe, Alex, and Tovah, and Scott Shore, wife Xin, and their two children Raymond and Garrison; brother Mark Shore; and two sisters Melinda Backstrom and April Shepherd. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Donations can be made at Kate B.
