On Monday, August 17, 2015 our beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother Fonda departed this life at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Fonda was born on August 25, 1943 in Whitesville, West Virginia to Charles Leslie and Erma Margaret (Peggy) Mynhier. She was a graduate of Van High School, class of 1960 in Boone County, West Virginia. She also attended George Washington University in Washington, D.C. In addition to her parents, baby boy Mynhier, and Brother Charles E. (Buddy), she was preceded in death by her husband Edward Leslie Baxter. Fonda worked for many years at Sara Lee Corporation and Revco Drugs, now CVS Pharmacy. She was also very involved with the Pop Warner Football League, (Tiny Vikings & Pfafftown Packers). She was a cheerleading coach, Girl's Director, and competition judge for the Drum Majors of America. She continued to volunteer her time for years, even though her daughters were no longer in the league. She is survived by her sister Loretta ""Letty"" Eversole (Luther) of Palm Bay, Florida; two Daughters, Leslie B. Cave of Tobaccoville, N.C., and Tia B. Smith (Steve) of Mt. Airy, N.C; five grandchildren, Matthew Cave, Patience Moore (George), Stephanie S. Hooker (Christopher), Abryanna Smith, and Hayleigh Smith; four great-grandchildren, Ciara Valentine, Zendaya Valentine, Aliyah Moore, and Sadie Moore. A memorial service will be conducted 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 to 4 P.M. The family will have a celebration of Fonda's wonderful life immediately following the service at ""Alice Watts Tuttle Community Center"" in Tobaccoville, NC (5 miles from funeral home) from 5 to 7 P.M. The family would like to extend their thanks to ""The Phantom Team,""4th floor ICU, Reynolds Tower at Wake Forest Medical Center for their undivided and excellent care of Fonda during the last days of her life.
