Floyd Jennings Strupe, Jr.

Dr. Floyd Jennings Strupe, Jr., of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Dr. Strupe was born on September 23, 1921 to Floyd Jennings Strupe, Sr. and Pearl Spainhour Strupe in Stokes County, NC. Floyd served his country as a member of the US Army Medical Corp during WWII. He was a faithful member of both Mineral Springs Baptist Church and Maple Springs United Methodist Church. Floyd was a member and past master of Piedmont Pioneer Masonic Lodge #685. Dr. Strupe was the owner of Strupe Chiropractic PA and was a member of the NC Chiropractic Association. In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by his loving wife, Iris Rominger Strupe; a sister, Mary Strupe Pool; and twin great grandchildren, Austin and Savanah Thomas. He is survived by two sons, Dr. Floyd J. Strupe III (Jane), of Winston-Salem and Kent T. Strupe also of Winston-Salem; two daughters, Cynthia Robertson (Dewey) of Kernersville, and Linda Cornish (Bob) of Bermuda Run; six grandchildren, Steven Robertson, Jeff Thomas, Michael Strupe, David Strupe, and Mary Strupe White; six great grandchildren, Brittany Lawrence, Zach Robertson, Jack and Max Thomas, Freddie and Bayer Strupe; one sister, Louise Strupe Roland (John) of Winston-Salem. A funeral service for Dr. Strupe will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Gus Thomas and Dr. Cecil Cave officiating. Interment will follow the service at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 14, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
