Floyd Charles Nichols

WINSTON-SALEM, NC-Mr. Floyd Charles Nichols, 83, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Nichols was born on June 22, 1931 in Wilson County, NC to the late Floyd Council Nichols and Essie Wells Nichols. Floyd served his country in the United States Army and was a member of Old Town Baptist Church. Following his retirement from the Department of Motor Vehicles in 1985 after 30 years of service, Floyd began a second career in restaurant ownership, painting houses and farming. Each year Floyd planted a garden that was admired by all. In addition to his parents, Mr. Nichols was preceded in death by one son, F. Charles Nichols, II and a sister, Janice Marie Nichols. Mr. Nichols is survived by his wife, Aldaree F. Nichols of the home; two sons, Carroll Nichols (Selah) of Pfafftown, NC and William Nichols of Winston-Salem; two granddaughters, Kristen Dishen (Miles) of Clemmons, NC and Katelen Williams (Brandon) of Pfafftown, NC; one great-grandson, Kolten Nichols; one sister, Jean Wilson of Wilson, NC; and numerous other loving relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Nichols will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Old Town Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Speas officiating. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park.
