Mr. Floyd Gray Baker, age 80, of Pinnacle, NC died Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Mr. Baker was born in Surry County to the late Floyd and Myrtle Baker. Mr. Baker was a retired farmer, worked for Haynes Hosiery, and R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company he loved to hunt and fish and spent many hours enjoying the outdoors.
Surviving are one daughter: Marilyn B. Turney, Pinnacle, one son and daughter-in-law: Jimmy and Debbie Baker, Pinnacle. Five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren. One brother: Wayne Baker, Pinnacle, Three Sisters and brothers-in-law: Betty and Eugene Shelton, Pinnacle, Allie Mae and Wayne Pruitt, Pinnacle, Rebecca and Richard Jarrell, Jacksonville, Florida. A special friend Doris Sams. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 11:00 am at Old Orchard Primitive Baptist Church by Elder Rodney Marshall and Elder Scotty Marshall. Burial with military honors conducted by King American Post 290 will be conducted in the Cedar Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel Friday Evening From 6:00 to 8:00 pm and at other times at Mr. Bakers home, Pinnacle, NC.. In Lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to the Old Orchard Primitive Baptist Church, C/O Margie East, 2360 Simmons Road, Westfield, NC 27053.
